Down the lanes is a shop called Cotton House - I had black-out curtains made for the bedrooms, very good job and a nice selection of fabrics.
They have a lot of horrid designs on the shop floor but plenty of books with imported fabrics to choose from.

Hi there, I'm interested in Cotton House - which lane is it down....can you give co-ordinates on how to find them please? Also can you tell me what kind of price they charged you for your curtains??? I've had one quote already and it was outrageous!!

How cheap Shenzhen is as you need to add transportation, visa, time....
I just did our curtains this WE and for 3 big ones (3.5 to 4m wide) and 2 smaller one (incl black out), it cost me around $ 4,500. The fabric is very nice (creamy white for both and stripes for the children bedroom)so if it is only to save 500 $ ??? bet your time is more expensive ?
Might be worse if you have huge amount of curtains to do + other shopping ?

I had my room curtain made here for $800 but a big 4 panels curtains, top to the floor made in shenzhen plus a small one for another window for $450. we had good lunch, tea time, shopping, dinner and laughter adn visa - all in less than $1000!

My sister in law just had a pair of curtains made for her daughter's bedroom (2.3m drop and 1.5m wide) Cost $200 for everything (material/hooks/labour) in Shenzhen. Seemed pretty cheap to me. These were not blockout as she did not need that.

gmbl - where did you get your curtains made? that sounds like a good deal as I only need two small windows. have done the shenzen curtains but once you add all the other costs it's just as expensive if you only have a small order. thanks

Whoooaaaaa... some confusion here.
These forums are for offering advice and recommendations - we have no problem with you posting a recommendation for a company including a link to their web site.
The only exceptions are with respect to movers becasue we have designated two of them to be our exclusive movers...
The one thing we dont like to see if people start a thread self-promoting their biz... that would constitute spam and as indicating in our Rules, thats not allowed.
If you want to recommend your company in response to a question thats ok - but you need to indicate that you are associated with the company...
Recommend away...
