I am not a medical doctor but I think the main issue would be the dose of Panodol that the child is getting. Overdose of Panadol is definately dangerous in anyone, regardless of the route it is given. The rectal route is just another way of getting medication into the blood stream. If you are giving an adult dose rectally I think this would be unwise. Why don't you ring Matilda Hospital and ask if it is the right dose and OK to give rectally. They always seem very helpful on this forum.
