Can anyone share an overtime policy for admin. staff? I'm creating an overtime policy for the company that I'm going to join and don't want to adopt the rules from the previous one. Thanks a ton!

Our company policy states reasonable overtime is expected from time to time. Over the past twelve months some staff have been asked to work on weekends which are usually days off and have negotiated for time in lieu or cash payment. You will probably find that the 'local' staff won't go home until the boss goes so how will you determine if it is legit overtime?

thanks... here are the policy from my previous employer


From 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm (Mon to Fri) - x1.5

After 10:00 pm (Mon to Fri) - x2


Sat (until 1:00pm) - x1.5 after 1:00pm - x2

Sun / Public Holiday - x2

one of my previous employer had the following policy:

Sat, Sun, Public Holidays: compensation day

work after 8PM: 50HK$ diner allowance

come back home after 11PM: diner allowance + reimbursement (upon presentation of receipt) of the taxi bill.
