Hi,
We're planning on moving to HK and will be in town for a few weeks next month to check things out (without a car).
I've just looked at the thread on how baby unfriendly HK is and wondered how people get about the place with twins?
Our twins are 6 months old, and a sling is out of the question as they don't take two babes!
Surely lots of other people must survive out there with twins? Any hot tips much appreciated.
Thanks

I actually had a double sling! But at 6 months they are getting a bit big for that.
The best thing about Hong Kong is that you can get HELP! My advice would be to take advantage of this aspect of life here.....it makes some of this issues with twins much less difficult.

The double prams that are 'wide' are harder to navigate in HK than the double prams that are one seat in front of the other.
Live in full time domestic help costs around USD 500 per month, so many people rely on their domestic helpers to assist. I have seen one baby in Baby Bjorn on mother, the other on the helper.
The helpers also of course take care of all the housework, cooking and laundry - leaving you more time to enjoy your babies!
While HK is not pram-friendly, the people are very baby friendly - we get stopped all the time when we are out with our baby, people always offer to help with doors, etc... ok, some of hte attention can be unwanted, but we prefer that to the alternative.
Good luck with your relocation, and be sure your look-see includes information on the hospitals, medical care, midwifes, schools, buildings with facilities and maid quarters, etc...

We have twins & a singleton 22 months ahead. We have a double Mountain Buggy (believe it or not the narrowest I've found) for pushing around our home on the south side. For further travels, we use 2 (or 3 depending on who all comes) Graco EDT Strollers (3 kg) with the "clips" that convert 2 single strollers to a double (available at B2Bs). We really try to avoid public transportation. It's just too difficult (our oldest is almost 4 so it's like herding cats). But, we're lucky that our complex has a shuttle service to Central so a taxi from anywhere we have to go from there is relatively inexpensive. Or, we simply walk from our drop-off point and people generally give us a wide berth and are pretty helpful. We do have a helper and that does make life a lot easier. Good luck with your move!
