I'm interested in knowing how Island, West Island & South Island School compare in terms of reputation, teaching standards, facilities, results, etc.

That's a difficult one as you tend to be partial to the one your child is at. Mine is at Island School and I'm more than happy with the level of education and teachers there.

I have two at West Island and have been totally happy with the level of education they have both received there, the school also has good facilites. I believe that the level of results for exams are quite high at all of the ESF schools. For what it's worth, my kids have both been very happy throughout their time at WIS, which I think is a huge plus point.

Marieantoinette and Sapphire - Many thx for your replies.
Marieantoinette - from what I've been told, Island School is the smallest school of the three. Do you feel that it lacks in facilities, eg. sports, canteen, etc. My daughter is at Glenealy Primary School and I was informed that virtually all Glenealy kids move on to Island School, do you know if this is the case?

Island School is due for major renovations which could cause quite a bit of disruption over the next year or so.
ESF recently 're-zoned' it's school catchments which may restrict your choice of primary school (depending on where you live) and secondary school (depending on which primary school your children attend AND where you live).
Other factors such as sibblings already at a particular school can help and they are constantly under review so you might want to contact Chris Forse at the ESF to confirm their latest proclemations.

True BD, the usual zones are Peak & Glenealy Jnr schools go up to Island School. Island School is the smaller of the 3, but I don't feel there's a significant size difference to warrant problems. As with the redevelopments, all schools will need to go through these at some stage. I understand west Island is changing heads Sapphire, has a new one been installed yet?
The rezoning as far as I know, will mainly affect non-ESF applicants to the senior schools (my younger kids included) to equally distribute them throughout the schools. The 2 main factors for entrance this year OMan are (1)siblings and (2)ex-students families (after ESF jnr schools of course)
