I have an old shell casing from a Navy ship, stands about 3 ft tall, 4.5" in diameter and is solid brass.
It's also in need of some serious cleaning, but more so than a bit of rubbing with some Brasso!
Any idea's how to deal with it or who to take it too for professional polishing would be most welcome.

That sounds to me like a waste of an awful lot of coke, although if you've seen what coke can do to an old coin then there's probably some merit in it.
