My 3-year-old son has trouble breathing at night. After taking an x-ray, our paediatrician says that his air passageway is quite narrow, and recommends us to bring him in for the sleep clinic. Although it's not painful, I'm afraid that it can still be traumatic. Was wondering if anyone else has brought their child in to do this. If so, how would you weigh the pros and cons?
Thanks!

A sleep study is actually quite straightforward; The child stays in hospital overnight with the parent and sleeps in a regular hospital bed. Non-obtrusive electrodes are used to pick-up signals to measure oxygen level, level of sleep, eye movements, snoring sounds etc. The paediatrician in respiratory medicine will organise the test and discuss the results.
