My baby (10 months) is waking up once or twice a week in the middle of the night because his nappy overflows and his pijamas, sleeping bag and bedsheets are all wet. We're using Nepia diapers at night, which are already a big improvement compared with Pampers. Before, I just went for a bigger size when they started to leak again. But by now he's on L size already, so the only thing we could upgrade to are pull-ups and I guess they're not much use for a ten month old. Any suggestions??

You could also try cloth nappying as you can better control the absorbency level by adding inserts or boosters...

The last time, I used to underline the bed sheet with a plastic equivalent material (easily obtainable from any shop). At least, when it does overflow (it happens with whichever diapers you used), then you will just need to change the pants or the blankets. I agree it’s rather tedious changing the entire bed sheet in the middle of the night.

Since I have been using cloth nappies with my boy, we have not had one leak at night. I always did before with various brands of disposables. If you are not keen on cloth nappies you could always us a nappy cover over your disposable nappy.

I buy Huggies "Goodnights" for my kids and they work very well.
As for any overflow I also have a SlumberDry on the bed, they are fantastic and really absorb any leaks. http://www.slumberdry.com.au/

You can also continue to use disposables but use the covers that are used with cloth nappies - this has been suggested on a lot of threads before.

We used an absorbant insert inside the disposable nappy (these were intended for use in cloth nappies). I can't remember the brand name and not sure whether you can get them here. They worked well. They were rather like an overnight female hygiene pad - perhaps you could try these inside a nappy??? to give added absorption. My son used to leak everynight until we used those. He grew out of it as he got older. the best nappies I have found are the Australian HUGGIES (not the same as those you buy here). If you know someone going to Oz ask them to bring you some back with them (as I do).
If your child will tolerate being changed without waking up then I think changing before you go to bed is a good suggestion (as said previously).

I also agree to use cloth nappy. Since we can adjust the insert/stuffing, or ad a boaster/soaker.
or better yet use the hemp insert double with micro terry. I used to have problem with disposable but since we use pocket nappy and hemp insert with doubler , the problem solved!
AdelaideMum's idea also good, you can use the additional insert /doubler to use with disposable if you want to.Mine was made from layers flannels.
