i'm looking for a very warm jacket. I'm thinking of Down. i'm looking for a higher % of down like 70% or more. I need this for a very cool country and also skiing. Do anyone know where to find? What is polyamide? Acrylic, Wool, cashere, Polyester? Can anyone rank them according to the warmest? Many thanks.

What about North Face? It sells ones for polar conditions (as used in HK) and ones (waterproof/breathable) suitable for the slopes.

used to work in production of outdoor garments: if you go for down, dont settle for les than 80/20 or 90/10, the highest the %, the lighter the jacket will be, also the bulkiest it will be.
polyamide is the generic term for nylon, the sheel of down jackets will be either polyamide or polyester, the important thing being the fabric must be treated for water repellency waterproofness to avoid the down and yourself to be most uncomfortable.
Be carefull of copies, better go a licenced dealer of the international outdoor brands, either in town or in Stanley market.
