I am a foreigner interested in buying a house or commercial property in Guangzhou. What are the restrictions on any profits I make on the deal? Does the money have to stay in China? How can I turn the profits back into US dollars? Please advise or recommend a reliable source of this kind of information. Thank you.

If you go through the proper proceedings of remitting the money from overseas and getting approval of converting the money to Rmbs, you can remit the proceeds of sale overseas. However, most sellers will not give you the time to do all the paperwork.
