I've got a 2 and 1/2 year old PC that's not working optimally. I'm looking for someone to check it out and make it more usable again. Any volunteers? (I'm in Repulse Bay)

1. Back up all your document files.
2. Make sure you have enough RAM (at least 512MB for Win XP).
3. Format your Hard drive and reinstall Windows and all applications from their original disks.
4. Make sure you have current Virus and Malware protection.
5. Copy document files back from your backup.

Or migrate to Mac and you won't have to worry about viruses or spyware at all...

actually mac has its own virii problems - or so it is alleged. Now Linux on the other hand ...., and you get to keep your old hardware to boot! (no pun intended)
I also think that reformatting and reinstalling should be considered a last step - I would try other things first.

Just to point out to you as poor man says up above - you have to install all of your applications again, and re-configure them. A reformat and reinstall is an extended activity - and you better have all of the software cds, drivers, etc., on hand before you start.
