What is the different between cashmere and pashmina? Which is warmer? I had seen many cashmere/Pashmina all the prices are very different. Some were about $100, 300+, 500+ $1000+ or even $2000+. All the material feels different and all stated 100% cashmere or pashmina. I do not want to over paid. what is the right amount? How can you tell if is the original? Thx.

I too am not so sure about the difference but I know that some people sell '100% cashmere' but actually its not. I am allergic to wool and one shop assistant tried to tell me there was no wool in it and I can tell straight away. Perhaps try to check out the difference on the internet.

A Pashmina is a shawl.

Cashmere is a type of wool that Pashmina's are often made from. Cashmere is from a Himalayan goat, but now is also bread in other places (like Mongolia)

The longer cashmere fibers won't 'shed' or 'pill' and if the pashmina is well made it will be super soft.

100% cashmere long fiber pashminas are expensive, the 80/20 cashmere/silk blends are very nice and practical.

For most people the cheaper options work great at keeping warm and it is great to have a few in different colours.

The really good ones can easily cost over 2000 HKD, and they cheapest nylon blend ones are 3 for 100 HKD!
