Friend coming in from the States for 8-10 days. Staying with me. Wants to know how much to budget for a day. Moderate level, not much fancy stuff. And he's not a shopper but will def want to do the outdoorsy tour stops.

when I have guests staying with us, I lend them spare octopus cards to avoid the hassle of lining up to get single journey tickets or fishing for exact change when boarding a bus. You may return the octopus cards but the remaining value will not be reimbursed. Fortunately, I've had (only) gracious guests who take the initiative to top up the cards before retuning them to me..
