i know this sounds a bit cheesy, but i'd like to help my kids this christmas to realise that there are those in the world that need help and who are less fortunate than they are.

does anyone have any ideas about this? i'd like it to be something that we can continue to do. thanks!

hiya, do you work? maybe you can get your company to organise something. my husband's company arranges events for their staff & family to participate in every year. we've taken special needs kids out on train & tram rides and this year we're present giving and carol singing at an elderly care home and children's special needs care centre.

the lady who ran the centre in diamond hill is always looking for volunteers to help out with her special needs kids on weekends. as this is one day of the week where their families can get a break. some of my husband's colleagues brought their children along to help out too (age 5+).

unfortunately i don't have the number anymore, but any big public housing estate will always have a care centre, maybe its worth asking there for anything you can help out with?

What age are they? At my sons primary school they have a Santa assembly each year where everyone has to take in a present which are then delivered to childrens hospitals. My daughters kindy collects for The home of loving Faithfulness. When I was young I used to crotchet blankets and take them to the old people in hospital, maybe your kids could bake some festive cookies and deliver them to an old peoples home or care centre,
