Ask for a new one or else report them to the consumer council

Cheerio, where exactly on the top end of the engine is the oil leaking from, is it weeping out or is there a lot of it? The first thing I'd do is check the oil level and make sure it was not overfull. Where is the tat tat sound coming from? the top part of the engine? the bottom? the clutch area? Does is increase in speed as the engine rev's rise? If its not a BMW what type of bike is it?

Hi Cheerio, I asked about the make because if its a Ducati it might have what they call a dry clutch, this by nature is noisy and rattly, to the extent that pedestrians might even comment on it! The reason for asking where its leaking from is to see if the leak is from the gear box area or the cylinder head area. If the engine oil is overfilled it may blow back out of the breather tube.
Your last resort if you are not getting what you need is to go directly to the manufacturer and point out that its not doing their image much good if a brand new bike is having the problems you mentioned and if their appointed dealer is not able to fix them!
Good luck

If I were you, I would send a letter to south china morning post in the reader response column, and ask for a representative of the supplier of your bike to please explain "why" they are not servicing their customers.
Unlike AX, the SCMP will have no legal problems publishing a " factual " account regardless if that bike company advertises with them. The company has a corporate duty to honour its warranty, you paid for it anyway, each bike would have a percentage within the profit margin that contributes to a warranty pot. There is no excuse unless they like most vehicle distributers is to just put you off enough until you give up. Great for their end of year bottom line, bad for the customers. By you not buying off them again won't bother them in the slightest, it will bother them if your story is published in the SCMP though.
I'd even go so far to have an article on your case written with a supporting photograph of the leaks, with the caption " brand x " wont fix my lemon of a bike... blah blah blah.
Good luck, don't let them get away with it.

Its not naming names to be spiteful, its asking for a public response by the brand, the pr department if they even have one will respond and excercise a generous fix for your problem.
Its been done before in the SCMP and the brands always respond, and its usually someone much higher up the ladder who can excercise more authority and just fix or replace the whole defective product.
If this was an issolated incident I wouldnt care about it, but it happens way to often, even buying a 3.5 million dollar leading british car wont spare you from them avoiding their warranty responsibilities.
While people dont fight, the new vehicle industry of Hong Kong will continue to get away with their localised BS.
In a nutshell, " The squeaky cog " always gets the most oil". If you do nothing, the end result will be exactly that, nothing...
