Airline restrictions to Canada/US

Does anyone know whether or not airlines (specifically Cathay) are very strict about bringing bottled water, snacks, books and toys on board? We will be travelling with our toddler who is a rather picky eater and we want to make sure we have a stash of food that we know he'll eat, and also enough toys/books to keep him entertained during the 11-hour flight. I don't want to be bringing the toys/books only to be told to dump them!

Kwis,

Sure you can bring foods, toys and books onto the plane. I travel back and forth from Vancouver to HKG all the time and I see chinese people bring BBQ duck, chicken, chestnuts, lunch boxes and what not.... As far as they are not dangerous chemical or sharp objects, you are allowed...Call CX customer service if you are not sure...
