Anyone flown with OASIS, the new airline from London - Hong Kong? What were your experiences.

Funny yes I did and got back last night. Flew out Wed night and I have absolutely no complaints at all. You have to pay for drinks other than Tea, Coffee or Water and for snacks but what do you expect for such a cheap fare!!!Took my 9 month old could book a seat with a bassinet and the crew were very attentive. Business class was empty. Def use them again!!

We just had a friend stay with us that flew with them, he said they were fine, no complaints, but drinks are extra, and if you want an isle seat its an extra 60 pounds. Also the flight was quite a bit longer than on the larger airlines, nearly 2hours more coming this way. Something to do with the fact that they can only fly up to a certain level which means more resistance, it costs the airlines more to fly on the premium routes which means higher which means a faster air speed, hence the routes normally taken by the larger airlines and not budget airlines. I'm sure theres' a much more technical way of explaining it.

They have sorted the extra 2 hour issue, they had not asked for permission to fly over Russia!! Flight took 12 hours to UK and 11 coming back which I think is the norm.

I think you'll find that they DID ask permission to fly over Russia AND they received that permission in writing, but it was rescinded on the day of the inaugural flight.

Hmm.. it's a great new airline.. but CX has london return non-stop for just HKD3500-3800. With FFP and meals. :)

Well it took nearly 2 hours longer for my friend, 13 hours to HKG as opposed to 11 normally. And it definately has something to do with the Oasis flying at around 34000ft as opposed to Cathays 40,000. But whatever, he was quite impressed. But if you have an exit seat and drink a lot it will cost as much as other airlines. Air NZ were advertising LHR/HKG for 299 pounds back in Nov. Also I think Oasis fly out of LGW not LHR, which might be a pain for a lot of people.

True do fly out of Gatwick but great for me as all my family are down south!!Def was a couple of hours longer but not anymore. Will use again!

Am considering booking for the summer with Oasis. Has anyone recently just flown with Oasis and would be interested to know about their experience. Do they serve meals and if limited, what do they serve? Is it really 2 hrs longer? Would like replies soon so I could consider. Just checked them out, 14,000 for 2 to London bus class seems a steal!
