How to clean stinky pram straps!

ORIGINAL POST

We have 2 pushchairs and what with the drool and food spillage, they both need a clean badly.

Seats are washable in the machine so no problem but the straps (which baby seriously chews on) can't be removed and they really, really smell. I have tried to wipe them down with pigeon anti-bacterial wet wipes but that's not working.

any tips?? thanks!

what stroller do you have?

I have the maclaren - and I just wash the straps - never had a problem. I believe combi also straps are removeable as also graco.

just use a tooth brush and some laundry detergent and water. make sure you really rinse the straps off using a wet face washer to get rid of detergent.good luck

I put the whole stroller in the bath/shower and scrub with a nail brush using washing detergent. The straps take a while to dry but it sure makes the whole stroller clean, and it washes out all the soap so you don't have to worry about your kids chewing on detergent filled straps.
