I have a really nice pair of brown leather shoes which my girlfriend mistakenly polished with the wrong color brown polish. Is there any way I can fix this? Can someone recommend to me a shoe cleaner or perhaps I can rectify this problem by myself?

any help would be truly appreciated.

In the UK I once foolishly dyed the back of my fairly new tan coloured leather armchair a deep purple by leaning back against it, having just used permanent colour on my long damp hair. Major panic ensued, but I called a specialist from Yellow Pages who came to the house with a small kit of potions and dyes, and within a couple of hours had lifted the purple out and restored the colour back to exactly as it was before. He did such a good job, to this day I don't know which chair it was out of the three piece suite I still use here every day. So don't despair! I'm sure you can lift the polish from your shoes. If you're in HK and don't get any better ideas from other posters, speak to the people at Church's (I believe they used to be in Pacific Place) and ask their advice as they should have some knowledge of cleaning/restoring top quality leather or, if not, might be happy to find out for you. Or speak to one of the good shoe makers (do a search as they're listed in previous threads; one in Prince's Building springs to mind) as they might also be able to help. Good luck!

I know of an excellent - I mean terrific - cobbler in TST. He's in a little alley off of Hanoi Road. His name is Chiu Kee, at No. 1 Hanoi Rd. Phone 27271 1132. He's open from 1pm to 9pm.
