My husband is a U.S. permanent resident alien. I am a U.S. citizen. We have moved to Hong Kong for his job (not connected with a U.S. company). I am wondering what the consequences are with regard to his permanent residency status with us now living outside the country. Anyone have any experience with this or know a good immigration attorney who can help us? We anticipate being out of the U.S. for two to three years, and then will return to live and work in the States permanently. Thank you.

Call the US consulat. But I think all you need to do is go back to the US at least once a year, but that was the rules many years ago, not sure what they are now
