I am pretty new in Singapore - and my folks are coming out in Feb / March time . They want to go off somewhere for a week and I was wondering if someone might have any suggestions . I was thinking North Vietnam , but apparently the weather will be bad . They are both 60 years old , fairly adventurous and want a bit more than just a beach holiday . Any ideas people might have would be great .

2 recommendations to consider:
1. Penang - slightly over 1 hr flight from Spore. You can select the Batu Ferringhi beach hotels which provide shuttle service to the city(45 mins ride). They can go shopping, sight-seeing and also have a day trip to Langkawi islands. There will be travel agents at the hotel for travel arrangements.

2. Langkawi - a paradise just for lazing around, islands'hopping etc.
