i would like to direct his question to any hairdressers reading :)
my daughter has fine fair hair. she's 3 and a half and never had a hair cut. i'm finding that her hair is breaking off at the front. maybe from her yanking clips out? anyway, it's creating this wierd long fringe that needs tying back.
i'm wondering whether i should bob her hair and get a proper fringe cut in. but i'd love her to have long hair. any suggestions??
many thanks for your expertise!

Zalca, In many cases with young kids it takes a few years for the hair to thicken up. If your daughter has very fine hair then growing it long is not ideal. I agree with you cutting it into a bob with a fringe, i think this will make it easier to manage and look very cute. Besides the fact that finges and bons are very 'hot' this season, it will be more practile. You could always grow her hair out later once it starts to thicken a little and with it one length you wont have to deal with messy layers.
Hope that helps.

thank you for your response. i think i knew in my heart that i should get her hair cut. (sob!)
I have three children and my third is my first girl, so please don't think i'm pathetic- getting weepy about a haircut-
I would also like to share a little story about my eldest son and his first haircut. i decided to buy some clippers, as my friend told me it would be brilliant for keeping my son's thick hair in check. anyway what i failed to do was to set the clippers properly and basically the first stroke of the clippers took off a big strip of his lovely hair.
i was in shock. he was 18 months old with a big bald stripe on his hair. i took him to the local hairdressers and they advised me to shave it all off. which i let them do. it was awful. he looked absolutely dreadful. i remember going to his baby group for the first time and taking his hat off. the sound of silence was deafening...
anyway i can laugh about it now. but beware the clippers...

the trauma of having a bad haircut stays with us forever... !
i've just remembered the hairdresser looking at me after having shaved all his hair off. he could see i was just about to crack and very kindly said 'he looks cute' (he didn't) and then he squeezed my arm and said 'no regrets'. actually when things go wrong now, i often think that to myself.
i guess i'm going to book an appointment now for my daughter!
thanks guys...
