I have named my Thai wife as beneficiary to one of my life insurance policies in America.In the event of my death, does she have to pay income tax on the proceeds, or is there a U.S.-Thai treaty that permits Thai citizens to receive that money tax-free?

She will not pay Thai tax but she would pay US estate tax unless she is the owner not just beneficiary of the policy.
