cancelling broadband TV

does anyone have any experience cancelling broadband TV? I'd just renewed my account about 3 months ago, but have been asked to move overseas. The provider wants me to pay the balance of the 15 month contract, which I find preposterous. I've offered to pay a reasonable termination fee, yet they insist on the full amount. Interetsed in knowing if anyone else has had to deal with this issue and how they handled it.

it's highly unlikely they will let you get away with paying less than what's stipulated in the contract. how about getting someone to take over the contract?

the terms of the contract IS if you terminate earlier than the expiration of the contract, you are to pay for the remaining balance (the X number of months' fee). That's their guaranteed income, and that's why you get a "better " deal each month (if you were staying).

I think your company should pay for the termination costs too... but then again, if you are relocating to a promotion and better job, don't bother, it's part of the "relocation" costs... among a zillion of other costs and expenses!
