Convicted on own plea and absolutely discharged.

In 2004, I picked up a minor conviction for common assault while living in HK ( I hit a work man who was harrassing my wife outside our apartment). Anyway, I was convicted on my own plea and then received an absolute discharge from the judge. Are there any lawyers out there who can tell me whether that still means I would have a recorded conviction in HK or not. Does anyone know what implications, if any, this might have on my ability to work and reside in Singapore? Any insight would be appreciated.
