Or just take express bus 88R from Alexandra House or Lippo Centre or Harbour Centre. Next stop Shatin.

I think you might have been the only person in HK (excluding those who didn't care about it anyway or were happy to walk the extra distance in the pursuit of better fitness) who wasn't aware of the shorter route between TST MTR and TSTE KCR. No mystery, really. But have you determined the fastest option for your own purposes yet?
