Fun in Guangdong with kids

ORIGINAL POST

Our kids are almost 5 and 2.5 years old. What parenthood brought us is missing the discovery travels as 2 kids is hitting us budgetwise. What do you recommend we could do accross the borders with kids: Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Guangzhou, others etc... in Guangdong? Is it only for week end or week days? What it worth during main holidays (CNY, XMAs) etc.. Last time we went to TV Studio City and Foshan. Was quite great.

Sorry for long question but althrough we have been in Hong Kong for long, we never explored the other side.

Search chimelong.com

(Chimelong hotel in Panyu)

A lot of parents bring their kids on a package to stay here, beautiful hotel, safari amusement park, white tigers... etc. Usually a weekend package.

I know this may sound a silly question but what is the best and quickest way of getting to Guangzhou for non canto speakers.

Totty- it depends where you are going,

1. Ferry - we like to take a ferry when we can, then a taxi to our destination.

2. Thru Train - Another option is a thru-train from Hung Hom, which is also easy.

3. And the more common options are the KCR to Lo Wu or a cross border bus. And then taxi to your destination.

All of these are possible for non-canto speakers.

The ferry and train schedules are online, you can do a google search.

CRJ - where in Guangzhou do you get the ferry to? Is it Shek ou? and then a taxi?

And minono, i think you mean Mission Hills. If you do a google search it's the first one up.

There are many ferry options, you need to decide where you are going, then you can choose the closest ferry.

When I went to Chime Long two years ago, we stayed in Chime Long hotel and it was great. There is 2 tigers and a lot of flamingos located in the hotel inself. I booked the one night hotel stay and ferry as a package in Hong Tai. In this way, you don't have to worry about how to get there as most or less all planned for you. But all their pamphlets are all in Chinese. You might need help with translation.

I would take a ferry to Shekou then get a cab to Splendid China. It is a Miniaturized version of great China sights and next door is the village with all the Ethnic Minorities. The ferry is only one hour from either China HK City in TST (Royal Pacific Hotel is above it) or from The Macau Ferry terminal in Sheung Wan. My kids always liked it when they were little.

minono, I am rather offended by your comment. People are trying to help each other here. If you find my contribution useless, it is more polite to still say thank you as we would teach our kid. I wrote you might need help with translation with the pamphlet as I think some shop assistance might just tell you what is available in English. So you don't even have to be bother with their flyers.

Dear vivianto

There is a misunderstanding. As you see my message is cut in two because I press accidently the send button.

In these messages I said 1/ first thanks to all 2/ and then I apologize for my stupid question i.e. me being ignorant.... how could I have offended you?

Again thank you and sorry if I did anything that makes you feel offended

If that was what you wrote, I take back my own comment.

Re: Chimelong Safari Park in Panyu: I was there in late December and you could drive-through or take the "train" through. However, it would be worth checking when making a booking. Also, check the park hours as they were different when I went than posted on the website.
