Im moving from Hong Kong in 3 months time, and im starting to terminate deals for my apartment, broadband, tv, etc.
Since there are so many things to remember when moving from one country to another, im sure i forget a few things.
Does anyone know of things of importance to remember, when moving from HK?
Ex: The monthly payment, i pay together with my employer to the government to some kind of pension.. i was told that when I leave HK, i get the money that is saved up...Does anyone know how i should deal with that?

Your employer must file Form IR56G (Notification of Departure from Hong Kong) one month before your departure.
You must note though, this withdrawal of MPF can only be done once. Should you return to HK to work in future, all contributions to MPF will not be available till your retirement age.

A few things to consider:-
- reclaim deposits on electricity, water, gas etc
- set up a mail redirection at GPO
- pay up tax
- reclaim MPF if departing permanently (your MPF website should explain)
- consider closing credit cards/bank account etc (if not change your address details with them even if you have mail redirection set up)
- back up files/burn CDs for things you want to take with you (eg. work computer)
- advise landlord of lease termination (assuming you've passed break clause point) and consider utilising security bond against last two months rent. (This is not really the right thing to do but many do it because the risk of landlord not paying up might be high)
- advertise things you don't want to take for sale (or giveaway) on this site
- might also need to check out cheap hotels for last few nights in HK depending on lease finish date.
