we want to work towards total cow's milk for baby when he hits 1 year.

price and taste difference aside, are there other differences between chilled fresh milk and the UHT packs that you refrigerate only after opening? e.g. nutrition level and contents?

I am very curious to see what answers you get on this wheelymate, I've tried researching it and couldn't come up with anything. Logically, to me anyway, ultra heat treating should impact the nutritional qualities, but I can't seem to find any support for that. Have you asked your pediatrician?

One thing our pediatrician said (which was said in support of using a follow-on formula which my daughter absolutely refused, as she did all formula) was that milk from local HK cows was nutritionally inferior. There was a thread on this a while back and the issues was hotly contested, but for what it's worth, that's what my doctor said, so, for what it's worth, we used Australian milk, Pure mostly but also Paul's.

And, now that we're in London, we can get organic milk :-) (Incidently, I noticed just before we left that Olivers was carrying an organic milk from the US...)
