Repairing delicate wool clothing

ORIGINAL POST

I just bought a beautiful and delicately-knitted Merino Wool sweater/jumper. And on its first outing, managed to catch one of the threads so that it broke and now there's an ever-increasing hole as the other threads that were attached to it unravel with nothing to hold them together. Really frustrating, as it was anything but cheap!

Does anyone know (a) if this sort of thing can be fixed, and/or (b) if there's a skilled tailor somewhere who might be able to give this a go?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Try one of the Tailors in Admiralty Centre. When you go up the escalator, turn left, walk through Watsons Chemist then turn right and there will be a few Tailor's on the left side. Someone along there should be able to help. Had a woolen jumper mended there a year or two ago. Not sure which one but they will say yay or nay.

Someone in Melbourne Plaza, Queens Road, Central should also be able to help.
