dismissal from job

Hi I have there,


Received a dismissal letter from my company yesterday of a month notice,

I’ll like to know what I’m entitle to get ( money) after I’ve been working there for a year

And 2 month, my contract say 13 months salary

So company supposed to pay me what?


Annual leave?

13th month?

Current month salary?


Please help with some advise since I’m not very clear

I think your two best sources for this information are your own employment contract and the Labour Department. Most of the details will be found in the following link, but there could be variations (to your advantage only) contained in your own contract of employment.

It all depends on what your employment contract letter says. Your entitlements don’t exist in a vacuum and it will vary greatly depending upon what you agreed with your employer. I would suggest bringing a copy of your employment contract letter, any emails and/or ‘collateral’ documents into our office for a detailed discussion. Our charge for a conference of 1 hour is HK$2,500.
