I am looking for an egyptian costume for my 7yr old daughter, and am not quite sure where to look. Might have to resort to getting one made but I prefer not to. Any ideas??

Many thanks

There are loads of fancy dress costumes to buy in Pottinger Street - the cobbled street off Queens Rd Central. Give it a try as I always have success there.

How authentic does it have to be? It's fairly simple to fashion a one-shoulder garment for her with a long piece of material, knotted on the shoulder and covered with a brooch. If you have a contrasting length of brocade, you can belt it and save some for a headband. Our school production was all about Egypt, and all the little girls wore these on the day....very effective.

Thanks for all your help, I have ordered one through Claire's thread. Very easy and efficient.

Let's hope it fits.
