i plan to take my 7 year old to new york or san francisco this summer, and i do hope to find a good summer school for him to attend. does anyone know any good private school in either cities? would appreciate any information!!!

this is information for the San Francisco area. If you go down to Palo Alto area, there are very many good programs - excellent in fact. They will actually probably be better in quality than those offered by the city of San Francisco.

He is only 7, you can also check out fun programmes at the YMCA - they are great and I LOVED them when I was a kid and went every summer until I was about 12. swimming, sports, archery, tennis, sign language, karate, arts and crafts, story time, mixing with so many different kids. There are times I think I learned more at camp than at school!

The one summer camp that I know of well is actually a girls only day camp. The Palo Alto area (where Stanford is located) is generally a very nice area with good programs. The other nice areas are Hillsborough, Foster City, Woodside, Portola Valley.
