Baby screaming and wailing in the middle of sleep

Baby is over 3 months old. He is a happy baby most of the time but sometimes wakes up screaming and crying painfully in the middle of a nap. What could be the reasons? Nightmare or overstimulation? Anybody has similar experience?

my experience is bec. of room temperature, either too hot or too cold.

Hi Alvineki - I noticed that after I started the thread :P Your baby is 3.5 month old right? My baby was born on Oct25. They are close!


Yes I guess every baby goes through that. Just see if there is way to minmize the pain and fright.

Hi Nicher - my baby girl (4months) sometimes does that too, but most of the time she won't wake up, just all the sudden let out a few screams but she will not wake up, very strange!

Hi Chrispy - my boy did try that sometimes... but most of the time I wasn't that lucky. He just screams and wails until you pick him up. He will fall asleep in my arm but suddenly he wails again as if in fright! Helpless little one... it usually happens during the 7-10pm sleep which is right now...

this is the age they start to be aware to 'pain'.
