Hi,
looking into the Yuen Long area with the villa developments, does anyone live out there and what do you think of it? I have two kids(3 and 1) and both my husband and I work from home with frequent trips across the border. Any advice welcome! Thank you!

The Palm Spring development offers villas of varying sizes with a very nice club house. It is value for money these days. It has good connection to the railways and during peak hours direct shuttles to/from Central.

You could also take a look at Fairview Park which offer houses of various size. It has it's own bus service to KCR, MTR and Central. Fairview Park is literally 5mins away from Palm Springs. Like eMon mentioned Palm Springs is also a good choice but Fairview Park is a lot busier with its own market supermarkets/shops/dentists/doctors etc.
I think both areas are worth looking at.

Thank you for your responses! How is the community in either FP or PS? Do people interact and socialize? Do you know about schools in the area? Thanks again for your input.

There is a small expat community at both FP and PS. I live at FP and the people here (expats and locals) are very friendly. The environment at PS is a lot more quiet and I know of families that have moved to FP because PS is too quiet believe it or not, but it really depends on what you prefer.
There are 2 small kindergardens at FP but they are taught in cantonese, however, I have seen expat children attend the schools here. PS has an English kindergarden which has a chinese and english teacher in each class and is very good.
Parents who live at FP or PS and want their child to attend a mainstream English Primary school, usually send them to the ESF in Shatin or some attend Hong Lok Yuen International in Tai Po.
The house prices to buy or to rent will be more expensive at PS.

Wow, great information, thank you Happy Chick! I think FP sounds like more of what we are looking for. Can you recommend any agents? Do you know anyone who is looking to rent a larger place out? Never hurts to ask!

We've just had family that have rented at FP but I have forgotten the agents name. Maybe I can PM you when I find out which agent it is and also to see if they can speak english.
