My husband tells me to give them out on Wednesday after CNY is this right?

From the first day of CNY (Sunday) till the 15th of the lunar month (4th Feb).

Do people normally give them out to the staff where you live? IE: Concierge, guards etc..and if so how much does one put in an envelope?

per the other threads - the average seemed to be for building staff HKD 20 per envelope but maybe two envelopes or HKD 50 for someone who really goes out of their way to help you.

Does it matter if you give them out too soon?

i've already given some as I won't see the people for a while. It's not bad luck or anything is it I hope?

I give it out this week to people I know whom I won't see until AFTER CNY... no, I don't think it's bad luck at all.... good luck for those with good hearts! :)
