How do you all manage to get the required exercise without a gym around? I am struggling to maintain a decent exercise routine, after I stopped going to Gym in cause way bay owing to the distance and lack of time. I Live in Stanley.


Sometimes I dont feel like going for a walk after a long exhausting day. This is causing me not exercising for days togther..


what you all out there do to maintain that fab figure and stay healthy ? How and when and how many times you exercise?


All recomendations are welcome.

I can walk down to get buses to work,but I choose to walk up the hill every morning.

I walk a lot on my day off,example-if i go to causeway from central,I'll walk until admirtly or wanchai then taxi.Is nice to listen of my Ipod and look around.I think is same with going to gym.And save more time and money.I eat a lot and I never get fat.I do sport in the summer tho!

i do yoga at home when i can't go to the studio. all i need is a mat. and when i'm really really tired, a few basic asana is all it takes to rejuvenate my rundown body and mind.

My husband and I made it a daily ritual do go on a 30 to 45-min walk after some light dinner. Sometimes its a vigorous walk, other times we slow down our pace depending on how tired he is from work.


I go alone if husband is away on a business trip

Walk the stairs not the lift.

Start by walking up 2-4 floors til feel the burn in your legs. Ad 1 floor every 2 to 7 days. till you can do it easily. I live on the 7th floor of an 18 floor bldg. Now I can walk to 10th floor and down 3. If I have lots to carry, I may take them up the lift, drop them inside the flat and go back down and start walk up ior walk up to 18th and take lift down. Stair walking is one of the best excercises there is for cardio vascular excercise as well as leg muscle bldg.Why spend bucks on gym to use a STAIRMASTER when there are so many FREE stairs in HK.

Any suggestions for good pilate DVD for beginner? Where to find one? I am not into losing weight..but working on postures and waking up body and mind.

Check out this great website www.collagevideo.com. They post to Hong Kong from the US. What's good about this is that they try every exercise DVD. You can call them up and ask for advice and they will even refund ur money within 30 days if you don't like the DVD. I live in Sai Kung and I have a great collection. Sometimes if I want something new I check out collage and then head to HMV to see whether they have the dvd i want there. DVDs on collage are all reasonably priced and there is a great range. I also bought a second-hand step, a stability ball and have some weights and about 30 classes on tape...who needs a gym? good luck and if you want some dvd recommendations let me know. PS there is a recommendations forum on collage that is basically users' recommendations
