No poo for 2 days

My 3 month old baby girl has not had a poo for 2 days. She is on breast milk and 1 bottle of milk formula in the middle of the night. She usually has about 2-3 poos daily. This is the first time it's happened and not really sure what to do. Are there any ways I can help her poo?

NORMAL

After the first six weeks, babies poo less. Some once a day, others even poo just once a week! But when you introduce solids, they start to poo again (for us it is after every meal)

Don't panic!

Some breastfed babies can go up to 3 weeks without a poo. Unbelievable I thought!! I learnt this when my 2 month old hadn't pooped for 10 days. I was beside myself, but my baby was happy as normal. The formula takes longer to digest than breastmilk, so as long as the baby is happy, I wouldn't be too alarmed!

I also gave my baby a little filtered, boiled water as well.

If your baby isn't complaining I would take the advice given above and just wait it out.

My son didn't go for some days when he was just a few months and appeared to be in agony, he was given a glycerin suppository to get things moving - a very happy baby afterwards!

Older babies do not pass stool every day and may go for several days without passing stool. As long as your baby is happy, thriving and the stool is soft, there is no action required.
