Phuket recommendation for couple with little toddler

Hi there,

We plan to visit Phuket in May - understand that this is the low season, hence cheaper BUT wet weather.

We will like recommendations for accommodation:

1) Somewhere not too isolated - we don't want to eat in the hotel all day. Will be nice to head out for an early evening meal with baby.

2) A room that has at least a sheltered balcony but preferably a separate living space - our baby will about 14 mths by then, he has a 7pm bedtime which we want to keep at it as much as possible so we want a separate space where we can relax or for the babysitter.

3) A pool obviously but no need for fancy baby pool .

4) Somewhere with a good breakfast or at least somewhere I can get decent fresh fruits for my baby - he will probably be eating mostly jar food for the trip so I want to make sure he has a decent brekkie with lots of fresh fruits.

Our budget is about USD900 for 3-4 nights. Any recommendations will be most appreciated. I already know about Allamanda and the Marriott (but we find these 2 way too large, something more intimate will be nice) so other recommendations preferred. Thanks!

Try the OLD PHUKET, it is a lovley hotel with a nice roof top pool not too big the rooms are lovley and the staff very helpful buffet breakfast is good also.Lots of places in walking distance for evening stroll with baby.you can get a private jacuzzi on the balcony or in a court yard if you wish.

This is not an expensive hotel but it is classy. It is on one of the quieter beaches that is Karon beach very long clean beach with plenty of eating out joints around.Check out do Google search Old Phuket Phuket Thailand. Enjoy

Hi Mallyal,

Thanks for the advice. I have read about Old Phuket and seems like a charming little place.

Just not sure if the hotel is suitable for babies - have you been there and did you have a kid with you?

We have stayed three times it has a lovley family room But a better place for children and babies is a place called the Surin Beach resort it has seperate sitting room and bedroom even a nice fitted kitchen area where you can self cater if you wish the rooms are like suites very nice.

Hi Mallyal,

Thanks for the tip. I read from the Old Phuket that they have a family suite - what is it like, is it a separate living room or basically 2 connecting bedrooms?

Will look up on Surin Beach.

Hi Wheelymate,

drop me an email, cheleeds@yahoo.com, as I have a condo available for rental. 2 bedroom on small and friendly complex near Bangtao and Surin. Rates are well within your budget.

Cheers...
