Western woman new to HK needs to get her hair cut and colored. Live in Tai Tam/Stanley. Don't want to spend a mint, but I want a quality job. Where should I go?

For more reasonable rates try one of The Young Design Team at The Hairdressers. They are the most reasonably priced international stylists in HK.

chiki, sorry just saw your response. It should be Touch H/L and 1/4 H/L. The difference is just the volume of hair that is highlighted. For eg. if you are just having a few pieces in the top that would be considered a Touch H/L where as if you were doing say the hairline, parting area and maybe a few in the crown that would be a 1/4 head. Hope that helps to clarify it a little better.

I've been very pleased with the color (and cut) at Aveda. Love the products, too.

Both Paul Gerrard and Philip George do great jobs, I highly recommend them both; and of course on the unlikely chance that you are dissatisfied, they will work until you are.
