We have just moved to HK and are having trouble finding bread that my children will happily eat!
I have read that Alioli and Mushroom are great bakeries but the info was posted over a year ago. Is this still the position? I am keen to find a bakery that delivers to the Peak.
Many thanks

I want to know about the same thing as pippie. I go to city super in ifc. Are there decent bakeries in the Central area? Thanks.

Ali will deliver to Peak usually weds. Minimum order of HK300. which is a lot of bread. They also do very good quiches and pies/cakes now. Good suggestion to make your own, I do, and get the bread flours delivered from Ali.. Check out bread machines, fortress/sogo/wing on.
Foxtrotaplha: Good Bakery, Life Cafe, but expensive, and my opinion, Il Belle Paese Italian shop one in Queens Rd, East close to PP 3 and one on Caine Rd, close to elgin st.. fantastic bread, whole wheat and good quality white, also Fruit/Grain bread.

I second the recommendation on Il Belle Paese; very good bread. And, Citysuper does often have some good breads too...although I go for the french and italian breads and not the sliced breads. The baguettes are the closest thing we've gotten to NY deli subs too; very good.
As for Ali Oli, I can't say they're outstanding and mushroom was not absolutely fantastic either; there are equal if not better options on HKI. Good luck. Breadmaker will do the trick.
