Hi...I would appreciate some advise & help.

I will be celebrating my child's 4th B'day in HKG. This is the first time we will be in HK for her B'day.

Would like some advise & information on venue, entertainment, catering, etc. We intend having kids & their parents over for the B'day.

Want some thing reasonable enough & yet enjoyable.

Pls advise. Thanks for your replies in advance.

Cheers!

how many people?

Many people in HK make birthday celebrations REALLY big deals - catering, nice venue, fabulous entertainment. You can go this route - and then there are lots of places to choose from - hotel ballrooms, clubs if you have membership (been to a few at the Ladies Recreation Club as well as AMC)

or you can do small and intimate. 4 years old=4 friends. Just friends, and then have a nice tea party, cupcake making (have recipes if you like) or a dress up party. Much more manageable, and I would argue (although is only my opinion) much more memorable for your child. There have been various posts for birthdays this age -with lots of really great ideas - theme parties, fun things to do at certain types of parties and whatnot.

IF you want to do the bigger route, which many parents like to do - so that they can also spend time with friends and mingle - I would say that trying to find a club is one of your easier routes as catering and whatnot would be provided for you.

Good luck! Let me know if you want some cute children's recipes.

there was a toddler food recipe posting here. It has some great ideas...scroll down - originally posted by CRJ. My recipes are more "party" - not actually very good for feeding your baby healthily -unless you want to give them cupcakes and cookies.

FOr your 17th month old, I definitely would suggest that you give her what you are eating - and just lighten up on the seasonings a bit. My daughter now eats what we eat with little to no problem.
