Thanks. Sounds like you are a hairdresser? are you? I haven't had my hair cut in awhile because I'm always nervous to take the plunge here. Ivy and Phillip George? Is there someone in particular there or are those people the ones you see in a shop with the same name?I'm not interested in straightening unless it's simply done with a blow dryer.Thanks.

Douglas has made some great suggestions as usual but I would also like to add that 'Point Cutting' is acctually a 'Western' style of cutting and is not just a local thing. As Douglas mentioned it is not alwasy a bad thing and is really determined by the application, this is where you will run into problems in HK. All the stylists here learn the techniques but are not always tought the best ways to impliment them for the correct hair type. You do have a point with regard to local stylists feeling you dont get any value if they dont cut much hair as I have come accross this numerous times. Its never about the volume of hair on the floor but about the results and client needs. As Douglas suggested go and have a chat with a few stylists and choose one you feel most comfortable and secure with. Best of luck.
