I came across a shop in Causeway Bay selling vintage clothings but they are very pricy. Around HK$1000 for a piece of dress, victorian style. It really looks beautiful but will you pay this price for a piece of old dress? Where can I find something similar but cheaper. Vintage does have a style.

i love vintage too. depending on the conditions, $1K can be a rip-off or a bargain.
i think generally people in hk are not very much into vintage unless all the local fashion magazines say it's "the in thing" to wear vintage pieces, then people will flock to the vintage shops.
i believe you will find it easier to find good pieces overseas. try google it.
or are you just trying to see if there's enough potential interest for your business?

There was an article about a successful vintage business. The man sells to many celebrities who wear them on red carpet. I personally doubt how we can make this business successful, very difficult, especially in HK where there are lots of other choices. But I'm ok for wearing vintage things.

all the vintage pieces that i've bought so far, i wear them, use them. i prefer buying the stuff overseas for two reasons: 1. better price 2. wider choice. i've never bought vintage articles on-line as i'd rather see and feel the item in person.
i can see the potential difficulties to run a business selling vintage in hk with a profit. but then if you've got financial means and vintage is your passion, i'm sure there're ways to turn the business to a profitable one.

If travelling to UK even charity shops are awash with it, very cheap as well.
London has some of the best vintage shops.
