Is there any way of finding out a private number for incoming mobile calls..?
Our 11 y.o. son is receiving late night calls almost every night (1am onwards) which if we answer the phone cut out after a short silent pause, but if they go to his voicemail then an abusive message is left. We're presmuing this is just 'prank' calls from a school mate, but it could of course be more serious.
Obviously we'd like to stop these calls, but there doesn't seem anyway to take action (i.e. follow up with the school) without knowing who's making the calls. Would the mobile phone company release the caller's number under such circumstances (I presume not)..?
Any advice much appreciated.

Nah - it's definately another kid; we can tell from the messages he's left. Unfortunately my son doesn't recognise the boy's voice.
I hope my 11y.o. doesn't have any outstanding credit card debts etc, but maybe I should check with him lol...

Don't delete the voice messages. Contact the Police. They will get the phone number and scare the sh*t out of the caller.

Thks Claire - we'll try our mobile phone company first before resorting to the Police. And yes we've kept copies of the voice messages (copies of which will also be sent to the school).

why not simply "block the blocker" ?
call your phone company and ask about it, I pay around $15/month to CSL for this.
