We want a bigger apartment but we want to stay where we are so one of our option is buying the apartment directly above or below us. However, my estate does not allow for such drastic rennovations ie knocking a hole in the ceiling to put in a staircase. We will then renovate both of the apartments totally. We want to do this quitely so what should we do. I know no reputable or structural engineer will sign for this as our property deeds etc do not allow for such extensions.
Also will we affect the structural safety of the apartment, if yes we definitely will not do it. I know we can't buy the apartment next to us as it will definitely affect the structural effects of the building.
