Hi,
Was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and found a solution. A fax machine calls our home every day around 8:15am and after 10pm at night. The number is, of course, blocked. I called our carrier, PCCW, and it says it can't see who is calling us- they get as much info as us (find that hard to believe). Anyhow, their suggestions were 1) change our phone number (ridiculous) 2) block the blocker. Does anyone know what kind of calls are usually "blocked" as we are worried about missing important calls if we block the blocker? Also, if anyone else has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks for your help!

We had the same problem but not just one number calling - all were fax machines, some with blocked numbers and some numbers displayed.
Our solution was to ask our family and friends to call our mobile number after 10 at night and before 6 am and then disconnected the line to the phone during those hours.
Took many months but now it has stopped and we no longer disconnect the line at night.

PCCW have some service which enables you to block individual numbers as they call. Can't remember what it's called but it basically stops it getting through unless it identifies itself or something like that. I used it for a month to get rid of nuisance calls. YOu could try that.

for block the blocker, if its a genuine call, the caller will hear a message telling them to dial four digits before inputting your tel. number so that their no. will be "unblocked", so that you can hear it ring.
