Take it with you on the plane and tell the stewards, they will look after it wonderfully. They will hang it in first class for you.

I'm going to be transporting my dress too - did you have it on a hanger and a large garment bag? I've seen some of the small, squarish bags they put them in and I'm a bit worried what its going to look like when I take it out...

My dress was on a padded hanger and in a large garmet bag, ,which you could hang folded in half. they didnt need to fold it in the end on the plane. There was enough room in the crew closet and in the first class compartments to let it hang and not crease. If you are worried call ahead, but everyone wants to look after your beautiful dress. You will be impressed with the kindness and excitement of people. the bridal shop told me if there were some creases in it, hang it in the bathroon and have a hot shower (or let the hot water run - to get enough steam) any creases came right out.

I bought my dress in Australia and I had to bring it to Hong Kong, then Vancouver, Toronto and then Nova Scotia. I called ahead to the airline in Australia because they were quite strict about the weight of my dress. My dress weight 11 kilos it was in a 6 foot long garmet bag that could not be folded. I had to squish it into a small closet from Aus to HK, because they said I was not a first class passanger but threw the other 2 flights it was put in a bigger closet. I needed to have it steamed 3 times before the wedding because it was quite squished. That's just my experience. Good luck, I hope your dress doesn't weight as much as mine did!
