Toilet Parts

Anybody know a good shop for finding spare parts for toilet flush mechanisms?

The building I'm living in is less than 10 years old, but the mechanisms on both our toilets are falling apart from oxidation....must be the salt water used for flushing.

Any of those small local hardware stores... I was amazed, we went into one and said 'we need the cone shaped thing for the toilet' and they had it - HKD12 I think!

Unfortunately, I tried the small hardware stores in my neighborhood, and was astonished that they didn't have the right parts for my toilet. (Though I live in one of three blocks that were all built simultaneously and I would guess all have the same toilets with rusting parts.)

Anybody know any small shops in other parts of town that are good on this sort of thing?

If you are renting - ask you landlord to fix this.

If you own - you could ask a plumber to fix it.

But before spending that much money, ask the building management to recommend a shop/plumber - as they should know someone who works on the building regularly. Or they might be willing to come and take a look, and give you the exact name/description in Cantonese to make it easier for when you go to the small shop.

Loads of toilet parts shops on lochart rd. just bring the broken bit and they can match it, and tell you how to install it if you need help.

if one shop doesn't have it, just go down the road till you find one that does
