I have applied for my work visa for my new job and am waiting for an answer. During this time I have helped on an event in the UK for my new company. Having worked closely with them and having subsequent dealings with them since, I now don't think that I would enjoy working for them.
Although I appreciate that the visa could come through any day (applied early Jan), I wish to decline the job offer that I have already accepted. I would be on a three month probabation period. If I wasn't paying all expenses to move to HK, I would happily use the 3 months to see if I could work for them.
Any advice/ comments?

Have you already started working for them? (It sounds like it). If so, what are the terms of your probation period? Check your contract, as normally notice of termination works the same from both sides - if they can terminate your employment with eg. one month notice, then you should be able to too.

Thanks for your responses. I helped them on an event in the UK, but was paid as a UK freelancer. So technically my contract has not started until I get my visa and I start work in HK. My termination notice is 1 month on both sides.
